Expanding the plant.

Located in Heerenveen, the Netherlands, Omrin’s latest anaerobic digestion facility marks a significant step toward a more circular economy in the region. Scheduled to start operations in 2026, the reactor will process up to 41.000 tonnes of OFMSW per year, with a reactor volume of 3.310 m³.

Operated by Omrin, the facility is part of a broader strategy to scale up renewable energy production. Currently generating 19 million cubic meters of green gas annually, Omrin aims to increase output to 23 million cubic meters with the addition of this additional DRANCO digester.

More than just added capacity, this expansion reflects Omrin’s commitment to sustainable innovation and regional energy independence.
