Located in the heart of the Basque Country in northern Spain, the Gipuzkoa facility is a key contributor to regional sustainability efforts. Since its start-up in 2019, the plant has been processing up to 40.000 tonnes of source-separated organic waste annually, helping divert biowaste from landfills and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
With a reactor volume of 6.000 m³ and a 650 Nm3/hour biogas production, the facility is owned by Consorcio de Residuos de Gipuzkoa (GHK) and plays a vital role in the local circular economy. Its advanced anaerobic digestion system transforms organic waste into renewable energy and valuable by-products, supporting both environmental goals and energy resilience in the region.
